For thousands of years, Scottish seanchaithe (lore keepers and myth mongers) would use folklore to educate members of the tribe in how to collect in essential ingredients for food/medicine and magic potions.
The berries of the Rowan tree are rich in Vitamin C and can be so powerful in the hands of the tribe's healers, that the berries can even stave off manflu!!
However, how do you teach the wee ones of the tribe how to find the Rowan tree berries to bring them back to the roundhouse, instead of any number of red or orange berries out there which can be poisonous?
This story will hopefully help your young ones find the right berries for the potions.
