2001 Dodge Ram 1500
5.2 Liter Engine
Automatic Transmission
Job length: roughly 3-4 hours with full disassembly, cleaning, and replacement
Specialty tools needed:
Brake line cutter
Brake line bender
Brake line flare tool
Brake Spring Pliers
Parts needed:
Brake Line (3/16” for this truck) - sold in coils, straight pre-flared lengths, or already bent for direct replacement
Brake Line nut fittings (the ends)
Rear wheel cylinders
Rear Drum Brake Hardware (not required if springs are in good condition)
Rear Drum Shoes (if you’re already in there, you may as well replace the brakes too)
At least 1 large bottle of Brake Fluid (check your vehicle for type of fluid)
