Hempstead, Tx DPS Road test

This is a video of my daughters 1st (successful) attempt at her drivers road test.
This is the Hempstead Tx. office, which I have not seen any videos of posted. It is helpful to see what the route is and be able to pre-drive it. Not sure if this is the same route for all though, but a general idea of what the area is like.

A few things to note, they expect a turn signal to be used while in the parking lot (@ 2:22), and pulling out of the office is a little weird (@ 3:30). You may get dinged for vehicle lane position when exiting.
My daughter had both of those that I can't fault her for, but her stopping past the stop sign when exiting the parking lot is all on her.

The office has also improved since I was out there last. They now have a new trailer (see 11:20) with 3 desks, but very limited inside seating, so you may have to wait outside in the weather (but has a large covered area).
You still need to make an appointment online (there was almost a month wait for us in early summer 2019). Our appointment was for 11:30am (but arrived at 10:30am per the website recommendation to get all paperwork in order), and as you can see from the dash cam time, we actually started a few minutes before that.
The day we were there, they had 2 examiners doing the driving test, so it seems to go pretty quickly considering it is about 15 minutes just for the driving part.
The examiner my daughter had was very nice and professional, as well as helped calm her nerves before the test.

Daughter used Aceable for the parent taught drivers ed. Self paced and not too expensive.
