My halloween top 10 of my favorite horror themes for piano. It's very hard or actually impossible to get a top 10 that you are 100% happy with. There are so many great horror themes and also iconic horror villians. I totally understand that a lot of people are not with me on this top 10 but this is just my personal taste. For instance, I have rarely seen a piano cover of Hellraiser. The Hellraiser soundtrack is absolutely amazing by Christopher Young. Very underrated in my opinion. Also pinhead is very iconic. The pennywise theme also disturbs and scares me. One of the scariest movies of all time. That clown 🤡 gave me some nightmares when I was young 🎈(I am talking about the 1991 movie!). The Dead Silence theme and the saw theme from Charlie Clouser are both magnificent themes for some very cool horror characters.
Also finally I did a Jason theme, which was very hard to do as most of the soundtrack is sound based and doesn't contain a melody.
The Chucky song should be present as well and I think it sounds wonderful for piano.
The Freddy Krueger theme is one of my favorites as well. The lullaby scared me a lot when I was a young boy and Freddy Krueger is probably the most iconic horror villian in my opinion.
Of course the Michael Myers Theme from the movie Halloween 1978 could not be absent. Composed by John Carpenter. A true classic horror theme for solo piano. A great theme with another iconic horror villian Michael Myers.
One of my personal favorite theme is Candyman composed by Philip Glass. This is because I love the theme and the Candyman is probably the best horror movie I am familair with.
