THE TIME WHEN NEERJA BHANOT SAVED 350 LIVES!!

On September 5, 1986, a flight from Mumbai to New York was hijacked by four Palestinian terrorists. At the time, the plane was on the ground at Karachi airport with 380 passengers on board. The terrorists were targeting Americans.

To find the Americans, the terrorists ordered Neerja Bhanot to collect all the passengers' passports. Neerja, the senior-most crew member on the plane, went to collect the passports from everyone.

However, instead of giving the passports to the terrorists, she hid them. For 17 hours, the terrorists did nothing, but then, in anger, they started shooting at all the passengers.

To help people escape, Neerja quickly opened the emergency exit and, amidst the chaos, tried to save three children. But one of the terrorists shot Neerja. That day, around 20 people were killed in the terrorist attack, including Neerja.

However, because of her bravery, 350 people were saved. For her actions, Neerja Bhanot was awarded the Ashok Chakra, and to this day, she remains an inspiration to millions.
