Because someone wanted it, here is an in-depth tutorial on making and testing gate drive transformers. I must say though, I'm not really good at tutorials of any kind but I hope this helps.

One thing I didnt mention in the "Results" chapter is that in a real application, I would have used beefier resistors and diodes, but this was just for demonstration purposes.
