Sugar Puffs 1993 - Cuban Sugar Mill Railways - Centrail Obdulio Morales

Video from a 1993 trip to view Cuban sugar mill railways. Obdulio Morales mill is located in the Sancti Spiritus region and is probably named after the Cuban pianist and composer who died in 1981. The 2'3½" gauge system footage features Baldwin 2-8-0 No.1334 of 1920, Baldwin 2-8-0 No.1363 of 1917, Baldwin 2-8-0 No.1333 of 1919 and derelict Baldwins 2-6-0 No.1137(1918) & 2-8-0 No.1339(1900) plus an unidentified loco visiting from nearby Simon Bolivar mill. 1339 is listed as a 3' gauge loco, however this mill has been known to regauge engines for it's own use. We discovered some workers recovering a derailed sugar wagon using a tractor mounted hydraulic crane. Watch them scatter as a hydraulic hose gets accidentally severed and the crane fails dropping the wagon onto it bogie.
