Gaillardia | Indian Blanket Flower | Fire Wheel is a summer parennial plant which grows abundantly in ground and in pots. It starts blooming from April to June. The whole process, from germination of seeds to blooming of flowers, takes about 3 months. It is a draught tolerant plant when it is matured, so overwatering can kill it.
It is a sun loving plant so give 4 to 5 hours filtered sun light daily for best flowering and save from scorching heat.
Soil mixture should contain 70% of normal garden soil, 20% of vermicompost and 10% of cow dung manure.
To grow in a pot, take 8 to 10 inch size of pots with good drainage holes and plant only two plants in one pot.
Although it's a disease tolerate plant yet powdery mildew can damage it. Powdery mildew is a fungal infection which can completely damage the plant, so eliminate the sick plant to save the healthy ones.
