About the piece
Inspired by Melanesian vocal traditions from Papua / West Papua. The text uses real Momuna/Momina vocabulary (West Papua) with simple, chant-like phrases around forest, hunting, earth, water, fire, stone, and animals. This is an homage, not an ethnographic field recording—no instruments, only human voices and natural ambience.
Language note: “Mamuna” circulates online as a variant; the documented language is Momuna/Momina (Somahai), spoken in West Papua (Indonesia). “Papua New Guinea” appears here for discoverability.
Listening tips
• Headphones recommended to feel the low drone & spatial detail.
• Best at low–medium volume.
• Loop-friendly; ~80–90 BPM feel, steady and trance-inducing.
