Devised as if for an Arts magazine programme (such as The Culture Show), this short presenter-led piece is intended to be an architectural reappraisal of the Alton Estate (primarily Alton West) in South West London.
Completed in 1959, the estate boasts an award-winning Modernist design heavily inspired by the work of Le Corbusier as well as a respect for the parkland it was built upon. It was with this in mind that the architects and designers were able to blend towering concrete structures with the gentle nature of the original Georgian landscape.
