This video spans over a year, and honestly… I prioritized other things over my plant channel. Mostly getting outside, walking around, and just being a human for a while. It might sound silly, but that’s what I needed this year — and I’m not apologizing for it.
I do appreciate those of you who stuck around and are watching again. When people say your comments mean a lot, they aren’t lying — well, at least I’m not. It’s incredibly reassuring when someone acknowledges you for not taking yourself too seriously, or for simply admiring a plant’s progress. It reminds me that this little scrapbook isn’t a waste of time. Some of you actually gain something from it… hopefully even more on the plant-information side.
I’m not a typical YouTube influencer. I don’t make decisions that feed the algorithm or attract sponsors or endorsements. I’m actively reducing the things I rely on, which also reduces the potential for this channel to grow. I’ve never been great at business, but I am consistent. I don’t dream that any of my channels will suddenly take off and let me quit my job to do YouTube full-time.
But tell me honestly — wouldn’t it be nice to film yourself, talk to yourself, do things you enjoy… and get paid for it? It would be — as long as it didn’t turn into a “job.”
So for now, I’m happy creating a simple, honest plant-information channel for the plants in my care. Looking forward, I really do hope to be more consistent with my channels and socials. I love the scrapbooking.
