There’s a special kind of magic in a road trip—an unspoken promise of freedom, discovery, and stories waiting to unfold. Our self-drive adventure from Kolkata → Ladakh → Spiti → Amritsar → Kolkata was nothing short of an odyssey. From the sultry plains of Bengal to the razor-edged Himalayan valleys, from high-altitude passes to plates full of soul-warming food, this was a journey that stitched landscapes, cultures, and memories together.

🌲 Shimla: Where the Journey Begins

Shimla woke up slowly the morning we left—mist drifting over the ridges, toy-train whistles echoing in the distance, and cafés serving hot momos by the Mall Road. As we rolled downhill along the curving highways, tall deodars gave way to lush fields, and the air grew warmer with every kilometer.

The drive from Shimla to Chandigarh is short and scenic, dotted with roadside chai tapris and panoramic viewpoints begging for quick photo stops.

A quiet yet powerful reminder of India’s struggle. Walking through the memorial, the echoes of the past feel incredibly real.

A high-energy spectacle of patriotism and precision. The cheers, the beats, the synchronized marching—this is one performance where the audience is just as enthusiastic as the performers.
