When Professor Venerable Samdhong Rinpoche moved to Lhasa in 1951, the Chinese presence there was very visible. The Chinese government put up outdoor speakers and broadcasted a radio program for three hours every day. They had also setup military camps near all of the Tibetan government offices and monasteries.
This interview about life in Tibet was conducted by the Tibet Oral History Project. This non-profit organization aims to preserve the history and culture of the Tibetan people by interviewing elderly Tibetan refugees about life in Tibet before and after the Chinese invasion.
