Welcome to Part 1 of the Water Slash blockout!
This episode continues the series where I build a stylized water slash effect in Unity from scratch.
In the previous two videos, we created the mesh and shaped the silhouette.
Today, I’m taking the next step — the blockout.
This is not a polished effect.
It’s the actual thinking process: experimenting with motion, testing ideas, searching for the right shape, rhythm, and timing.
I’ll go through the core, outer layers, flashes, beams, sparks, counter-sparks and show how the early motion of the slash is formed.
👉 This video is split into two parts for convenience.
Next Saturday, in Part 2, we’ll continue polishing the timing, refining the motion, and building a sequence with two consecutive strikes.
A strong blockout is 80% of the final effect.
Think of it as a quick pencil sketch before a detailed painting — the fastest way to explore shape, timing, and energy before adding any polish.
