Cocoy Laurel rendered two love songs. The first, a cover of the 1973 Karen Wyman song, Somebody Waiting, I believe, was dedicated to Nora who would be on a U.S. Power of Two Concert Tour with Kuh Ledesma the following month and had plans to stay abroad. To Nora he would sing,
"Promise me as you travel each mile
You'll think of me every once in a while
I feel the sunshine in the warmth of your smile
'Til then remember me SOMEBODY WAITING"

The second, Paano (kung wala ka na), a 1978 George Canseco composition popularized by Pilita Corrales and Dulce, is a love song of wife to husband--his mother, Celia Diaz Laurel, to her recently departed husband, Vice-President Salvador "Doy" Laurel.
It is quickly followed by Nora calling him out "Hey, Victor" from backstage; he runs towards her with open arms, kisses her on the cheek, they embrace. He was delightfully surprised that she came out onstage, willing to do their duet of Lollipops and Roses.
Fast forward 21 years later... Previous to him being introduced, Cocoy narrated on April 22, 2025 at the wake of his best friend the Superstar, that, very displeased at him for the damaged painting of her which he borrowed for a family art exhibit, she said "hindi na tayo kakanta ng Lollipops and Roses." Let's listen to Cocoy explain. • NORA AUNOR SALAMAT | COCOY LAUREL INTERVIEW
