In the official Duolingo English Test guide, Duolingo says that you do NOT gain points by going faster. This means that for writing questions, you should always use all of the time you are given.
Even if you have finished your response, you should use your remaining time to proofread. While proofreading, focus on mistakes that are easy to fix like:
1. Typos
2. Missing words
3. Obvious grammar mistakes
These mistakes are not only easy to fix, but they also lose you the greatest number of points!
