इसका सबसे अट्रैक्टिव पार्ट है, 12 किलोमीटर लंबा वाइल्ड लाइफ कॉरिडोर। जो एशिया का सबसे लंबा वाइल्ड लाइफ कॉरिडोर है। घने जंगलों से घिरी पहाड़ियां और नदी के साथ गुजरती ये एलिवेटेड रोड आपके यात्रा अनुभव को लाजवाब बना देगी। यह कॉरिडोर वन्यजीवों की सुरक्षा में भी अहम साबित होगा।
इस एक्सप्रेस-वे को दिल्ली-देहरादून इकोनमिक कॉरिडोर नाम भी दिया गया है। इस हिस्से में टू-व्हीलर भी चला सकेंगे।
टनल, एलिवेटेड रोड, एलिफेंड अंडरपास, ब्रिज से लेकर साउंड बैरियर तक खूबियों ढेर सारी हैं, लेकिन कुछ नेगेटिव इंफेक्ट भी हैं।
वाइल्ड लाइफ कॉरिडोर को बनाने से पहले देहरादून में स्थित भारतीय वन्यजीव संस्थान यानी
डब्लूआईआई ने तीन साल का अध्ययन किया और एनएचएआई को सटीक जगहों का सुझाव दिया। इस एक्सप्रेस-वे के एलिविटेड हिस्से को साउंड प्रूफ भी बनाया गया है। पूरे एलिवेटेड पार्ट में Noise Barrier लगाए गए हैं, ताकि वाहनों की आवाज और लाइट वन्यजीवों को खलल न पहुंचाए।
12 किलोमीटर एलिवेडेट रोड के अलावा छह पशु अंडरपास, दो एलीफेंट अंडरपास, दो बड़े पुल और 13 छोटे पुल इस सेक्शन में बनाए गए हैं। 12 किलोमीटर लंबी एलिवेटेड रोड करीब 600 पियर्स के ऊपर से गुजर रही है। केवल पांच किमी ही पुरानी रोड का एलाइनमेंट रखा गया है। इस एक्सप्रेस-वे से दिल्ली से देहरादून की दूरी भी घटेगी। इस पैकेज वाले हिस्से की ही बात करें तो एक किलोमीटर दूरी कम हो जाएगी। इसे पूरे एक्सप्रेस-वे के शुरू होने के बाद देहरादून से दिल्ली की दूरी 23 किलोमीटर कम हो जाएगी और यह सफर ढाई घंटे में पूरा किया जा सकेगा।
