ICELAND EP3 | A cinematic roadtrip North

In 2021 it was time to leave for the North again. This year we decided not to go Norway and instead visit Iceland with our trusty DIY campervan Wilma! I always wanted to go there with my own van and explore the country without a big plan and independent from accommodations.

This year it finally worked out - we left for a 6 weeks trip. We spent 2 days in Denmark before taking the Smyril Line directly from Hirtshals to Seyðisfjörður in the East.

After 4 weeks in Iceland exploring the Southern Regions, Reykjanes, Snæfellsnes peninsula, Norther Iceland and the East Fjords it was time to leave. On the way back with Smyrilline we decided to make a quick stopover on the Faroe Islands - 5 days to explore this beautiful island in the remote Atlantic Ocean!

A place where nature draws boundaries, a landscape as harsh as the climate - steep mountains with sharp peaks, rugged coastlines and deep fjords. The Faroe Islands got their name from the animals you encounter the most on these islands - the sheep - directly translated it means "the sheep island." The country is spread on 18 islands that are connected by underwater tunnels and endless roads winding through the narrow fjords. Going there felt a bit like stepping back in time - watch the video to find out why!

Happy to show you my attempt in covering this 6 weeks journey in a more or less cinematic way. My biggest video project so far and it took me quite a while to put everything together. I hope you like the video and feel inspired to also do that one day - cheers! :)
