From 1979 to 1991 I served in an auxiliary branch of the RAF called the Royal Observer Corps. Originally set up to track enemy aircraft formations as they flew across UK airspace, by the time I joined, the ROC had gone underground and adopted a nuclear warning and reporting role. This is a VHS video I took on the final meeting of Thankerton Post in September 1991.
