Hey there! In this video, I’m crafting the Scarab Bag using 2.5 mm (6 oz) veg-tan leather and my custom pattern. I walk you through embossing, dyeing in layered teal, blue, and black tones, and shaping the leather with hot water and a bowl for that distinct scarab form. We attach all the parts—legs, mouth tools and handle —using rivets, and sew the body and wings together. The result is a striking, small bag with a top-opening design that’s both unique and wearable in different styles. It’s not your everyday practical bag, but it’s definitely an eye-catcher—I hope it inspires your own weird and wonderful leather projects!
