Cold wave grips central & east India: isolated severe cold days likely in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha & Telangana till 14 Dec. Night temperatures 3-6°C below normal; Adampur (Punjab) recorded 4°C this morning.Dense to very dense fog will blanket Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & northeast states in morning hours through 16 Dec, disrupting road & air traffic.Dry weather dominates mainland India. Light rain/snow only over Western Himalayas from 13-17 Dec and again 18-24 Dec due to two feeble Western Disturbances.Gradual rise of 2-4°C in minimum temperatures over northwest & central India from 14 Dec; colder-than-normal nights to persist elsewhere into Christmas week.
