After five years of rebuilding our 78-foot aluminum trawler, Tangaroa, we’re finally setting off on the Great Siberian Sushi Run—our once-in-a-lifetime voyage from Victoria, BC to Japan via Alaska and Siberia.

In this video, we pack the last of our tools, load up supplies, say goodbye to family and friends, and feel the full weight of leaving the dock after all these years.

There’s excitement, emotion, and a whole lot of chaos as we prepare to launch into the unknown.
