RetroMania Västerås 2025 - Bigger, Better and Even Geekier

RetroMania is a toys and games market that's been running for mnay years, but it's still growing each year. I visited the latest edition in Västerås, in August 2025, to see what I could find.

The main focus of RetroMania is of course all the merchandise. The 2025 edition has increased the number of merchant tables by 100 compared to 2024, and there are hundreds of more visitors this year compared to last year. The event has also expanded to cover three floors instead of just two. It's an immense growth in other words.

And this growth isn't just reflected in the number of participants to the event. There's also more and more activities each year - Lego to play with, arcade games and old console games to play, and cosplay events. Most primarily, a huge cosplay parade featuring the Swedish Garrison as well as tons of other cosplayers.

As usual I also interviewed people to see what they think about RetroMania, and along the way I found everything from enthusiastic fans, to sellers showing of their secret stash...to crashing the Cartmens live stream, and having a strange interview with a Jawa...
