Milly and Molly are very disappointed when their friend Alf learns he has to move away. Alf lives with his Nan in a caravan park but the park is being closed and there is nowhere in town to move the caravan. Fortunately Nan’s expertise with horses and Farmer Hegarty’s sick horse presents a solution to the problem. Milly and Molly are best friends of ethnically diverse backgrounds who live in a small unnamed town in the countryside. Each day the girls and all their friends experience new adventures that teach them valuable life-lessons. Their stories deal with the kinds of questions and trials that children face every day–and offer understanding in such matters as honesty, respect for others, difference, tenacity, exercise, cooperation, respect for nature, bullying, stranger danger, forgiveness, trustworthiness, responsibility, loyalty, loss, and grief–and many other areas that are challenging to young children.
