How Every Super Soldier Failed In The MCU

One of the recurring questions of Falcon and The Winter Soldier is: Can there ever really be another Captain America? Morally that’s a fantastic question, Steve Rogers was a one in a billion patriot who had a phenomenal moral compass being able to juggle both the demands of the country and knowing when to be a Nomad.

Strength wise? Well actually, there have been a whole slew of Super Soldiers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obviously James ‘Bucky’ Barnes himself was given a dose by Hydra. Along with him are The Incredible Hulk, Abomination, Quake, Deathlok, John Walker, Isaiah Bradley, and the Flag Smashers! The crazy thing about that list? Those are only the characters we have seen so far with the serum. We can expect to see Jennifer Walters receive part of the serum in the upcoming Disney+ series She Hulk, and with the setup of the Young Avengers in WandaVision through Wiccan and Speed; perhaps Elijah Bradley was thrown into the series as a setup for his comic book moniker, The Patriot.

Now just because these individuals have received the Super Soldier Serum, doesn’t mean it went off without a hitch. All medication has side effects. The Super Soldier Serum side effects include: Face melting, hulking out, and spontaneous combustion- yikes!


So why exactly has there been a focus on the serum over the last four phases of the MCU? Will Baron Zemo ever perfect his quest of ensuring the eradication of the product? Has this medication been FDA approved?! Tons of questions to ponder here, and we’ve got most of those answers.
