Fanny Garde and Effie Hegermann-Lindencrone are two of the most important artists from the Art Nouveau period. Working at Bing & Grøndahl, they launched the production of underglaze at the company and were central to the design and production of the "Heron" and "Seagull" service sets. Known for their carved relief and open work, they achieved fame and international recognition during a time when women were excluded from many professions.
