Under restoration since the year 2000, it was sometimes easy to think that the NKP 190 project might never reach the finish line. For the decade that followed the completion of the cosmetic restoration in particular, it always seemed like the operational debut was expected "next year" (but never came). In July of 2025, however, NKP 190 finally roared back to life - and the Alco community could not have been more excited! As a big fan of NKP 190 myself, I naturally had to take a trip with @alcosrarities to go see one of its first runs...
