A joint opposition forum in the Acholi sub-region has strongly condemned the escalating political violence and voter suppression reported ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The opposition leaders describe the situation as a grave violation of human rights and are demanding swift and decisive action against those allegedly responsible. They warn that state security organs, which are mandated to protect citizens, have instead become a source of fear and intimidation for opposition supporters, leading the charge in rights violations.
