Live Modular Dub Techno // Dublin, Ireland // December 2024

I was delighted to be invited to play little live set by some other modular folks in a cafe in Dublin. This was good practice at putting together my live modular dub techno setup and then performing with it. I probably rushed through some parts which I could have let 'breathe' a bit longer, but the cafe was closing so I had to wrap up!

Oxi One is driving the show sequencing drums from FLAME FIRE over MIDI, chords from Neuzeit Warp (also over MIDI) and sending clock into 1010 Bitbox Mk2 for looped audio samples. The two voices you hear are the Befaco Pony through Viol Ruina at the start, and Klavis Twin Waves through Favourite Avocado Toast (yes really!).

For effects I have the Befaco Oneiroi which I'm loving right now as an effect processor as a send on my mixer. For this type of music it is perfect at textured ambient sounds. I'm also using the Endorphins Ghost as a send effect too.

As texture I'm playing audio samples looped through the Bitbox Mk2.

This was recorded straight out of my rack into my little Zoom L-6 mixer which is perfect for these type of 'on the go' events.
