How to repair a Makita HM1100C hammer with a bad motor.
This Makita hammer came in for repair because it was making a terrible noise when it was running.
The customer thought it was burnt out and beyond saving.
But bearings is all that's wrong with this hammer. After 20 years, the top bearing failed and needed to be replaced along with the oil seal.
Because of its age and how bad it sounded, I played it safe with this hammer and only did the essential work to get it running again
When they come in like this, they can be risky to fix. As if they are burnt out, they may not be worth fixing. So you could be wasting your time and money.
Luckily, this one worked out well and is still hammering with full power.
