भक्तामर स्तोत्र का जैन धर्म में बडा महत्व है। आचार्य मानतुंग का लिखा भक्तामर स्तोत्र सभी जैन परंपराओं में सबसे लोकप्रिय संस्कृत प्रार्थना है।

इस स्तोत्र के बारे में कई किंवदंतियाँ हैं। इसमें सबसे प्रसिद्ध किदवंती यह है कि आचार्य मानतुंग को जब राजा भोज ने जेल में बंद करवा दिया था। और उस जेल के 48 दरवाजे थे जिन पर 48 मजबूत ताले लगे हुए थे। तब आचार्य मानतुंग ने भक्तामर स्तोत्र की रचना की तथा हर श्लोक की रचना ताला टूटता गया। इस तरह 48 शलोको पर 48 ताले टूट गए।[कृपया उद्धरण जोड़ें]

मानतुंग आचार्य 7वी शताब्दी में राजा भोज के काल में हुए है। मंत्र शक्ति में आस्था रखने वालो के लिए यह एक दिव्य स्तोत्र है। इसका नियमित पाठ करने से मन में शांति का अनुभव होता है व सुख समृद्धि व वैभव की प्राप्ति होती है। यह माना जाता है कि इस स्तोत्र में भक्ति भाव की इतनी सर्वोच्चता है कि यदि आपने सच्चे मन से इसका पाठ किया तो आपको साक्षात ईश्वर की अनुभति होती है।

Bhaktamar strotra, which is created by Acharya Mantunga, is an impressive voyage from first word 'Bhakta' and final word 'Lakshmi! In this stotra, Acharya Mantunga has portrayed this adventure in 48 most dominant sections. The time you begin presenting primary word 'Bhakta" you are engaged with a persona portrayal intensity All-powerful. The 48 Bhaktamar shlokas have healing powers and are used for a variety of purposes. Out of these, around fifty percent of shlokas deal with health issues. These range from the removal of headaches, curing of eye diseases and eyesight, leprosy, skin diseases including all types of abdominal pains, diarrhoea, all kinds of gastrointestinal tract diseases, curing of infertility, prevention of miscarriages, prevention and cure of cancer, improper functioning of kidneys, problems with spinal cord etc. Some Bhaktamar shlokas refer to worldly issues like getting a job or wanting promotion in a job, abundance in terms of wealth- e.g. clearing of debts, having more prosperity and being successful etc. Yet other shlokas refer to the removal of all types of fears like fear of theft, bankruptcy, death, and other emotional issues. Finally, some shlokas deal with turbulences created by the spirit world.
