N5 Japanese Listening Practice | Everyday Dialogue with Furigana

Welcome to our Japanese learning series! This video is designed for N5-level students who want to practice real-life conversational Japanese.

In this dialogue, two new foreign employees, David and Lisa, meet for the first time. They introduce themselves and talk about their jobs, families, hobbies, and daily routines.

Key Vocabulary:
出身[しゅっしん] (shusshin): A person's origin (e.g., country, hometown).

写真[しゃしん]を撮[と]る (shashin o toru): To take a picture. A very common N5-level phrase.

苦手[にがて] (nigate): To be bad at something.

医者[いしゃ] (isha): Doctor.

〜に住[す]んでいる (ni sunde iru): To live in/at (a place).

Key Grammar:
〜が好[す]きです (ga suki desu): ""To like something."" This is used to express preferences.

〜に〜ます (ni ~masu): The particle に can be used to indicate a destination, such as in 会社に行きます (I go to the company).

〜と〜ます (to ~masu): The particle と can be used to mean ""and"" or to list things, such as in 父と母 (father and mother).

〜から〜まで (kara... made): ""From... to..."". This is a basic structure for time or location, such as 午後六時から (from 6 PM).

〜てください (~te kudasai): A polite request form. While not in the dialogue, it's a fundamental N5 pattern. The dialogue uses どうぞよろしく which is a set phrase for introductions.
