In addition to the traditional lakeside festival held on the 1st weekend of August, the 5 Lakes Cycle Marathon, a half marathon, live performances by local musicians and clubs take place five days a week in the middle of the square and on Herzog-Odilo-Straße.
At Mondsee, like the other lakes in the Salt Chamber area, it is worth trying some of the fresh freshwater fish. In addition to typical grayling, you will also get trout, carp or zander.
The surroundings of the lake offer various accommodation options. From luxury hotels, family guesthouses to private accommodation. The widest offer is in the town of Mondsee. Campsites directly on the shore of the lake, providing all the necessary facilities, are a cheaper option.
