The Sixties Scoop took over 11,000 Indigenous children from their homes to live with non-Indigenous families from 1960–1990. Saskatchewan piloted a program called AIM, the Adopt Indian and Métis Project.

Folk musician Raven Reid was adopted as part of AIM.
