In this video, you will see how the bakweri people perform a special kind of respect within 2 or 3 days after a burial of a loved one.
This occasion is called “Sah-sah”.
In the event, the pig is slaughtered in the presence of everyone, shared respectively according to different sizes and portions.
Part of the meat is shared to the elders, some to the village and some to families and relatives.
The part shared to the village is prepared immediately and eaten by everyone present at the event.
This video is a lesson for the young bakweri youths to learn and know how to portion this meat in events that such a need arises.
As tradition demands we have to keep to the culture of our forefathers.
