Why Morrible Doesn’t Want to Teach Glinda Magic in Wicked? When Glinda and Elphaba arrive at Shiz University, Madame Morrible quickly chooses Elphaba as her protégé, frustrating Glinda. Despite Glinda's future as a powerful witch, she shows no magical abilities at the start of Wicked. Meanwhile, Elphaba immediately demonstrates her powers by levitating objects, catching Morrible's attention. Morrible sees Elphaba’s potential as a tool for her and the Wizard’s schemes.
