The wonderful Isle of Cumbrae Pipe Band, playing outside the Mews in the village of Braemar during the 2018 Braemar Gathering weekend. Around 12 to 14 bands attend the Braemar Gathering each year and some bands stay and play throughout the village during the weekend to entertain visitors. The tunes played are 'The Pipes of Peace' and 'The Scottish'.
The band was formed in 1999 by Andy Bryan and some of the committee members from the Millport Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) The first few members came from Millport, Largs, Fairlie and other areas of North Ayrshire. They now have about 60 members, with 18 young players and they wear their own Isle of Cumbrae tartan.
