There are requirements to unlock a Last Spell :
"At Hard or Lunatic level, a "border" sign appears. When a border ends without miss or bomb, a border star will be lit. With all stars lit, you will meet an extra Spell Card after you beat the boss."
... It's like a prophecy.
This rules applies to every boss.
