On October 31, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule (https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspe...) with comment period that finalizes routine updates to the home health payment rates for calendar year (CY) 2020. Importantly, CMS finalizes policies related to the implementation of the permanent home infusion therapy benefit in CY 2021 and solicits comments to improve policies related to coverage of eligible drugs for home infusion therapy. Unfortunately, CMS continues to tie payment for home infusion services to the presence of a skilled professional in the home, in the same manner as the transitional benefit.
