I made my first film in 1978 when films were made from film and editing was done by cutting the film then gluing the pieces back together.
Images are now captured digitally and editing is done on a computer screen and so much more can be done in post-production. In fact what can be achieved is now only limited by one’s imagination and even amateurs like me using modest equipment can produce high quality films.
Film-makers are visual story-tellers. Their aim is to engross their audiences, to transport them to different worlds, to take them to places they have not, or never will, visit, and often to suspend disbelief.
This talk goes systematically through the film production process and covers a number of tips and tricks for budding film-makers, including effective, editing, lighting, sound and music as well as revealing the secrets behind some special effects, including how to make people disappear, or shrink them to three inches tall and how to make inanimate objects talk.
Have you heard about A and B-rolls? Ever wondered what they are?
How does green-screening work?
What makes a successful film?
Book this talk to find out the answers to these questions and many more?
