Mumbai, a frantic mélange of India's extremes. It is the financial center of India with huge skyscrapers and it has also a lot of poverty and slums in which half of the population of 17 million people lives.
After coming back to Mumbai after 33 years, almost nothing has changed in the old center around Victoria Terminus. Almost everything there has been built by the British during the colonial times.
A fine excursions by boat is to Elephanta island with ancient Hindu temples.
