Improve your 10 or 12" Atlas / Craftsman lathe with this simple gearing hack. Only requires 1 more part to cut your feed rate to half it's current speed of .0042" per revolution. YOU CAN DO IT. See how I did it. I figured this rather obvious solution out on my own because I had a bunch of left over gears from a scrap partial lather I had purchased. I have since read that others have arrived at the same and similar solutions. See it done live. We reduce the much too fast .0042" minimum feed to .0021" per revolution.
