Finally found another Lionel New Haven 591. My favorite Switcher so far!!

This video shows another Lionel New Haven 591 pulling the rolling stock for the first time on this layout. Another Lionel New Haven 591 stopped working after years of loyal switching and running around the layout. The rolling stock was purposely selected for a New Haven engine to pull. All previous videos of pulling this load of rolling stock was done with a Union Pacific A-B-A as the original New Haven needs repair. An A-B-A is fun to have and run however, three engines is long, noisy, and just too powerful for the small layout. I finally after months of searching found a New Haven 591 and this is its maiden voyage on this layout and hoping for years of switching
Lionel NH 591 engine was limited, and with many Lionel ‘digital’ engines, are no longer supported nor parts available from Lionel. Even if you want it fixed, you can’t. So, what do you do? Hundreds of dollars spent and now a paper weight. More on this subject in another video.

The New Haven 591 is my favorite Switcher so far. I would like to find, and have been looking for, a Legacy diesel switcher with more communications, ir sensor, etc. however, must also contain all the positive details below.

New Haven 591 positives:
Front and rear electocouplers. (Open each separately, remotely,)
Speed control (Notice how it goes up and down back track at same speed.)
*Smoke Unit (yes diesel still smoke, rolling coal.)
Two motors.
Lacks: All communications, such as crew talk, tower comms, sound for shut down sequence. etc. Does have brakes squealing sound when braking, and one tower comm, and one garbled talk for crew.
