The Naval Construction Branch is responsible for industry outplacements of Navy personnel. These outplacements are offered at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, in South Australia, and the Australian Marine Complex, in Henderson Western Australia. Outplacement positions include:
Production Support
Testing and Commissioning
Build Management
Electrical Power Generation and Distribution
Propulsion Engines
Communications Equipment
Combat system
Crew Zero
Duration ranges from three to twelve months. For apprentices, postings will be between nine and twelve months to allow completion of their Certificate Three Journal.
There are also a range of short duration secondments, including: Fabrication, Diesel & Electrical Apprentices; Leading Seaman Marine Technician’s; Leading Seaman Electronic Technician’s and Senior Technicians & Engineers.
