This is quite possibly the best example of how much BBQ has changed and developed with a direct heat pit that might just last mine and someone else’s life time.
A few specs:
Fully double wall insulated with 50 mm of ceramic fibre in the base, sides and doors (it's effectively a pit within a pit).
Hugely configurable for whole hog cooks, reverse flow smoking, high heat grilling, and room for up to three cooking grate levels at once.
This particular unit is specced on a supremely overengineered off road chassis, roughly 3.5 m long, clocking in at a colossal 1.3 metric tons, and finished in high-temp battleship grey.
The hinges are all 12mm steel, 30mm solid stainless axles, all of the bolts, washers and thrust bearings are 304 stainless steel
The grates and plancha are also 6mm steel, so those definitely won't wear out within a few lifetimes
