This video describes the process of nuclear division in animal cell and plant cell. Karyokinesis is subdivided into 4 phases : Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.
Prophase is the longest phase of Mitotic Phase, here, Chromosomes condenses, asters and spindles are formed, nuclear membrane, nucleolus, Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi bodies disappears.
Some books talks about a phase in between prophase and Metaphase i.e. Prometaphase.
In Metaphase, Spindles become functional and the chromosomes are aligned in the equatorial plate or metaphasic plate. Morphology of Chromosomes is studied in Metaphase.
In Anaphase, Centromere splits and the 2 daughter chromosomes are formed.
In Telophase, Chromosomes decondense, asters and Spindle fibres disappears (Centrioles do not disappear), Nuclear membrane, Nucleolus, E.R and Golgi bodies reappear and 2 daughter nuclei are formed in a cell which are similar to the parent nucleus.
