This video is your complete guide to kitbashing, painting and setting up a sloop-of-war four Warlord Games’ Black Seas. All you need is two sets of brigs from Warlord Games basic game box or the Frigates & Brigs Flotilla.
During the Napoleonic era, sloop-of-war was very loosely used for anything from a cutter to smaller frigates. But the most convergent form of this term tends to lead to single deck, 18 to 20 gun, three masted ships. They were generally unrated.
In the Black Seas game system, I treat them as sixth rate ships.
