New Five Cents and Jingle Bells played on banjo # 174 for Timmy.
The neck on this banjo is more of the Ash wood from the old tree on my grandparent’s farm, specifically this time from a slab off the base of the tree. The dowel was a from a portion up in the crown and limbs along with the one I used for my fiddle and mandilele.
One-piece curly ash neck and dowel, walnut inlays (tractor, cow, round bale), dowel brace/wedge, and heel cap. 25 1/2” scale, fretted. Copper wire side dots. Joined to an old metal-clad rim. Golden Gate geared pegs. The rim was originally joined with a Buckbee-style neck, but was damaged in transit and sent back, so I decided to use it for this one.
Excuse the brashness — I cracked my picking nail last week while sanding a bridge.
Tuning: gCGCD
Merry Christmas!
