So, here’s a rundown of this au

Starting off with ciel, in this au black butler doesn’t take place in the past but in the present. Maris parents went to England one year to visit the phantomhives at their manor. Maris parents have known the phantomhives for a long time and were good friends with the family. When they came to visit they were devastated to know that the manor had burned down, and killed both parents and the kids were missing. (Manga spoiler) while ‘ciel’ and his twin where being held captive ‘ciel’ summons Sebastian, after watching his brother die (not sure if that’s part of the manga but it’s apart of my au). When ‘ciel’ escaped and found his way back to the manor the Dupain-Cheng family was there visiting the newly built manor when they then saw ‘ciel’. Ciel tells them that his brother was missing and he was all alone and the Dupain-Cheng family took him in.


Now with nagisa, when nagisas mother came to visit the school to pull nagisa out of class 3-E koro-sensei quickly noticed signs of abuse in nagisas behavior. Koro-sensei being the caring person/octopus thing he is reports it and nagisa is sent to live with his father. A little while after that nagisas father died in an accident and nagisa ended up in a foster system. After a while of being in the system he ran away because of how fucked up the foster system is. While maris mother is there visiting family she runs into nagisa and helps him. Nagisa tells her about what was happening and she decided to adopt him.


Lastly ray, when ray and the others escaped from the farm/orphanage ray decided he did not want to go back for the other kids and left Emma and Norman to do it themselves. While he did feel bad for doing that to them he also wanted to experience freedom, something he has never felt before until now. While In the ‘human’ world Isabella and ray get into an argument and ray runs off without saying a word to Isabella about where he is going. Since ray and Isabella technically wouldn’t be registered as people in the human world since their documents are back at HQ with the demons, when ray gets questioned by an officer near by they can’t find any records of him and have him put with a foster family since they do not know who exactly he is. When in the foster home with the Dupain-Cheng family being their foster parents and siblings they were told to keep an eye on his behavior to see if that could help identify him. Isabella went searching for ray not long after he ran off. She asked multiple people if they had seen him and eventually went to the police. The police obviously couldn’t find any records of either persons so they sent her on her way without helping to find ray.
