Menards New! Chessie System Operation Lifesaver Boxcar with Lights!

Here's my new Menards #275-9442 O gauge Chessie System Operation Lifesaver Boxcar with LED lights. Even before opening the clamshell, I can already see that there is an issue with one of the trucks. If Menards trains have an Achilles Heel, it is quality control. This is the second consecutive Menards purchase I have made that has arrived damaged in some way. Let’s hope it isn’t too bad.

This is a simple repair to make, but again, I should not have to make such a repair on a new, in-the-box item, and it’s hard to see how this damage could have been caused in shipping. It must have left the factory this way.
